Bojacat Tobias
In July, 1996, Bojacat Tobias was born, he was just a little tike. His momma, Summer Dawn had a rough time, she had 2 babies on her own, but the contractions stopped and she couldn't get the other 2 babies out. Off to the vet we went for a c-section.
We lost one of the Babies, but Toby was a survivor right from the beginning. Dawn wouldn't accept him as her baby and would move away when he tried to nurse, so I bottle fed him.
He was always tiny but determined. He was the funniest looking kitten, he had great big purple eyes, unlike anything we'd ever seen before. A skinny neck, (because Dawn chewed all the hair from around his neck) and a fat belly. He looked like ET. The hair finally grew back around his neck and we started to realize that he was going to grow in to a lovely cat.
It took the longest time for the white to show up on his laces, but when it did we also realized that he had perfect show feet! Toby is small but stocky and wonderfully balanced! Big, beautiful, dark blue, almost purple eyes, a light coat and dark point color. He granded in October, 1997, shortly after he sired his first litter of kittens!
We didn't even know he was interested in girls. He would occasionally pounce on one of the cats, but it was play behavior, not big boy stuff.
Then Quira went in heat. She is a good sized girl, nearly twice as long as Toby. He hadn't paid any attention to her, that we had seen. One morning, Bob came out of the bathroom to find Toby on top of Quira, he had her by the back of the neck and was going through the motions like he'd been doing it all his life ! They looked like Mutt & Jeff ! It wasn't long after Bob said "he'd never be able to stretch far enough to breed her", that we heard a squawk out of Quira . Toby let go of her and she started rolling around....9 weeks later we had 4 babies!
Each cat has his or her own story, Toby is just one of my favorites. He made some lovely babies for us and is the sire of Grand Champion, National Winner, Bojacat Vabulous.
